In my column today I was happy to name Hobo with a Shotgun, The Corridor, and Detention as three movies with local connections that did phenomenally in 2011.
There were a ton of other great features and shorts that I saw this year that I have to mention… I have been very, very privileged to see these films:
Rollertown
Appearing in the last five minutes and in the credits made me the happiest girl.
Legend of the Psychotic Forest Ranger
Such a fun film… cheese, gore, and Cape Breton accents galore.
“The Workhorse Walks Alone“
Zombies, robots, and beards. YES.
“Sandwich Crazy“
One blood panini, please.
“Katrina’s New Beau“
Stylish, funny, and gross.
“24 Frames Later“
More zombie goodness, primed to take over the Youtubes.
Nightmare Factory
If you’re enjoying The Walking Dead’s walking dead, this doc on SPFX master Gred Nicotero is a must-see.
What was your favourite local offering this year, Internet? Tell me! I’d like to know.
